With a massive 2.25 billion yen, One Piece Film Red debuts at number one.

In its first weekend, the anime film One Piece Film Red ranked first at the Japanese box office. In its first two days, the film sold 1.58 million tickets and earned 2.254 billion yen (approximately $16.7 million).

The film earned 78% more in its first two days than the previous film, One Piece Stampede, did in its first three days (One Piece Stampede was released on a Friday, whereas One Piece Film Red was released on a Saturday).

Last Saturday, the film was released in Japan. In Japan, the film has IMAX screenings in 27 theaters, which opened alongside regular screenings. On opening day, the film was also shown in MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Atmos. This fall, Crunchyroll will release the upcoming One Piece Film Red anime film in theaters in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The screenings will be available in Japanese with English subtitles as well as an English dub.

The plot revolves around a new character named Uta, Shanks' daughter. Uta's speaking voice is provided by Kaori Nazuka, while the character's singing voice is provided by Ado. Ado also sings "Shinjidai," the film's theme song ("New Genesis").
