On Teusday Golden Kamuy 29th manga volume's wraparound book jacket band announced that the manga has been greenlit for a live-action film adaptation.
The manga is being published in English by Viz Media, and the first volume is described as follows:
Saichi "Immortal" Sugimoto, a veteran of the Russo-Japanese War, makes a modest living in the Hokkaido wilderness during the postwar gold rush in the early twentieth century. When he comes across a map that leads to a wealth in hidden Ainu gold, he embarks on a perilous journey to find it. But Sugimoto isn't the only one who wants the gold; everyone who hears about it is desperate to get their hands on it! Sugimoto will need all of his skills to survive the harsh circumstances of the northern wilderness, as well as dangerous criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers. To survive, Sugimoto will need all of his abilities and luck, as well as the assistance of an Ainu girl named Asirpa.

The manga was first published in Young Jump in 2014, and it will conclude on April 28 with the 314th chapter.
