To Your Eternity Manga Goes on 1-Week Hiatus Due to Creator's Health

dIn August 2019, Kotoyama (Dagashi Kashi) released the Call of the Night manga in Weekly Shonen Sunday. On September 15, Shogakukan will release the 13th volume of a compilation work.

A television anime that debuted on July 7 and is now airing is being inspired by the manga. The anime is available on HIDIVE for streaming with English subtitles as it airs in Japan.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

A new manga from the creator of the acclaimed A Silent Voice, featuring intimate, emotional drama and an epic story spanning time and space…
A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment. But the boy has a history, and the wolf is more than meets the eye as well… To Your Eternity is a totally unique and moving manga about death, life, reincarnation, and the nature of love.
The manga is being digitally released in English by Crunchyroll at the same time as it is in Japan.

The manga was published by Ima in Weekly Shnen Magazine in November 2016. The first arc of the manga came to a close in December 2019, while the second arc began in January 2020. At the 43rd Kodansha Manga Awards in May 2019, the manga took the the Best Shnen Manga prize. The manga was also listed as one of the best graphic novels for teens in 2019 by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).

The first season of the anime, which is based on the manga, debuted in April 2021. On October 23, the second season will begin.
