In a huge win for gamers everywhere the Grammy Awards have finally decided to add the genre of Video Game Soundtracks to their awards... A much needed move if I may add. (Lets be honest game soundtracks sound better than most of anything you hear on the radio these days.... Yes I will challenge anyone on this point)

On Thursday, the Recording Academy announced five new Grammy Award categories for its 2023 awards show, including "Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games And Other Interactive Media." Other new categories include "Non-Classical Songwriter of the Year," "Best Alternative Music Performance," "Best Americana Performance," and "Best Spoken Word Poetry Album."

The Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games And Other Interactive Media, according to The Recording Academy "recognizes excellence in score soundtrack albums made up primarily of original scores and created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current video game or other interactive media released during the qualification period."
