On Friday, the Pokémon Company International began streaming "POKÉTOON: Scraggy and Mimikyu" in English on its Pokémon TV streaming platform. The entire series of Pokétoon anime shorts will be streamed on the website, and the series will be streamed on the official Pokémon YouTube channel later this fall.

The first Pokétoon short, "POKÉTOON: Scraggy and Mimikyu," will debut on the Pokémon Kids TV YouTube channel in June 2020. All eight shorts are already available with English subtitles on that YouTube channel (although some of the shorts do not have dialogue).

The first short's animation director was Taku Inoue (MAN WITH A MISSION THE ANIMATION). The animation was created by Yoshiyuki Koie, who also worked on the Pokémon: Twilight Wings short animated series. Miyako Makio, Ryousuke Senbo, Shinichi Suzuki, and Shya Yoshisato created animation for the short. The backgrounds were drawn by Tsutomu Ikeda, and the music was composed by Kei Tsuda.

In May and June 2021, two new shorts in the series, "Hero ni Naritai Yanchamu" (Pancham Who Wants to Be a Hero) and "Yume no Tsubomi" (Dreaming Tsubomi), were released.
