Since its August 6 debut, One Piece Film Red has earned over 10 billion yen (about US$73.13 million) in Japan, according to the show's Twitter account.
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, released a special illustration to celebrate the movie's box office success.
Because One Piece Film Red made that much money in just 20 days after its premiere in 2022, it is presently the fastest movie to do so. Kogyo Tsushin is currently at least the 41st highest-grossing film in Japan, despite the fact that the film's all-time ranking list has not yet been updated at the time of writing.
A total of 7.2 million moviegoers were counted.
It took Jujutsu Kaisen 0 43 days after its December 24, 2021 release to surpass the 10 billion yen milestone, making it the 14th highest-grossing film in Japan with 13.75 billion yen (about US$100.05 million) in domestic earnings.
The fifteenth entry in the One Piece anime series is One Piece Film Red. One Piece: Taose! Kaizoku Gyanzakku is directed by Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection, One Piece: Taose! ), with Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film: Gold, GANTZ:O) writing the script, Masayuki Satou (One Piece Film Strong World character designer and animation director) serving as chief animator and character designer.
