The new television anime project based on Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin manga was announced at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event on Friday, along with a trailer, the primary staff, and the major cast. On the Noitamina programming block of Fuji TV, the anime will make its debut in 2023.

The anime will re-adapt the main manga series.

Aniplex also revealed character visuals for Kenshin and Kaoru.
