The main story of Rifujin na Magonote's Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series will "finally end in volume 26," according to a web listing issued by Kadokawa for the November 25 release of the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Special Book.
Both the primary light novel series and Yuka Fujikawa's manga adaptation are under license from Seven Seas Entertainment. Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Datte Honki desu), a spinoff manga by Shko Iwami, was also licensed by the firm. The "epic and influential fantasy" plot of the original novels is described as follows in Seven Seas:
An unemployed 34-year-old shut-in who was kicked out by his family and living on the streets believes he has reached his lowest point—exactly as he gets struck and murdered by a speeding truck! Rudeus Greyrat is resolved not to make the same mistakes he did in the past after discovering that he had been resurrected as a newborn in a world of swords and sorcery but that his memories of his prior life were still there. He will make the most of this reincarnation as he embarks on an incredible trip.
From 2012 until 2015, Rifujin na Magonote serialized the tale on the Shsetsuka ni Nar! (Let's Become Novelists!) website. Then, in 2014, the MF Books imprint of Kadokawa started releasing a print edition. September 2021 saw the shipment of volume 25.
