On September 28, a one-hour finale of the anime Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun (Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no gonky) will air, according to a Kadokawa announcement on Monday. The EJ Anime Theater in Shinjuku will also host an advanced screening of the anime's last episode on September 25.
Made in Abyss, a 13-episode television anime series, debuted in Japan in July 2017. In October 2018, Sentai Filmworks obtained a license for the show and made it available on Blu-ray disc. The English-subtitled version of the show streamed in the United States on Amazon's Anime Strike service, and HIDIVE streamed the series outside of the United States.

The sole unknown location in the globe according to the plot of Made in Abyss is a vast pit and cave system known as the "Abyss." Its depths are home to strange and amazing species, and it is filled with priceless artifacts that modern humans are unable to create. Humans descend to investigate the mysteries of the Abyss because they are fascinated by it. "Cave Raiders" are the adventurers who enter the pit. In the village of rth, which is on the brink of the Abyss, dwells a small orphan girl by the name of Riko. Her goal is to follow in her mother's footsteps and become an Underground Raider, unraveling the mysteries of the cave network. When Riko first begins exploring the tunnels, she comes upon a robot that looks like a young kid.
