The second season will premiere on Netflix worldwide in December 2022.

Ryhei Arisu (pronounced the same as "Alice" in Japanese) is a male high school student who is irritated with his intolerable daily life. He goes out in town with his bad friends Karube and Chta one night. However, the town is suddenly engulfed in massive fireworks. When Ryhei comes to, he notices that no one else is present. Ryhei, Karube, and Chta find themselves in a different world and are forced to participate in survival games or die right away. The three are fighting for their lives as well as a way back to their own world.
The first season will premiere on Netflix in December 2020. It was the most watched live-action series in Japan in 2020, and it ranked in the top ten on Netflix in 40 countries and territories around the world. Shinsuke Sat (live-action Bleach, Kingdom films, Oblivion Island anime film) will helm the series once more. Sat's first season scripts were written by Yoshiki Watabe and Yasuko Kuramitsu. ROBOT is in charge of planning and production.
