The protagonist of the books is Allen, a reclusive sorcerer who dwells far into the woods and who, by chance, meets Charlotte, a young woman who has lost her way. She explains that she fled her homeland after being wrongly accused of a crime caused her betrothal to be called off. Allen chooses to assist the girl and teach her wicked things—like enjoying food, playing games, and staying up late—recalling his own childhood and being betrayed and expelled from an adventure group.

In August 2019, Fukada published the story on the Shsetsuka ni Nar! (Let's Become Novelists!) website, where it is still serializing today. The first print novel volume of the narrative, which featured drawings by Sakura Miwabe, was released by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha in March 2020. The fifth book of Ichiho Katsura's manga, which debuted on Pash Up! in 2020, will be released on Friday.
