-An Anime Encyclopedia? Sign me up this would make arguments sooo much easier*
On Thursday, the Association of Japanese Animations unveiled "Anime Taizen" (Anime Complete Works), a comprehensive database of anime. The "Anime Next 100" initiative, created to mark the 100th anniversary of anime, includes Anime Taizen (with the first historical record being in 1917).
Since some information has vanished over time, the project's operator strives to maintain a comprehensive database. Senior official Junko Ueno stated that the database can be used for research, promotion abroad, and the development of human resources. Ueno also believes that through using the database, people can discover new works.
Twitter user Anime NEXT 100 said that because to concentrated access, connecting to the database has been challenging. Within the first 24 hours, the database was momentarily closed for repair.
On October 22, 2021, the database was initially made available for testing. Before being reopened to the public, it has undergone renovation and modernization. Since 2015, the 100th anniversary of anime has been promoted by the Anime NEXT 100 project.
