In the August update, Monster Hunter Rise's Sunbreak Expansion reveals more monsters and seething Bazelgeuse.

CAPCOM's Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion for the game was featured in a new clip on Tuesday during the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase. The following monsters from the August update are previews in the video: Shagaru Magala, Furious Rajang, Scorned Magnamalo, and Seething Bazelgeuse.

On June 30, the expansion will make its Steam premiere on PC and Switch.

The expansion is available as DLC for Monster Hunter Rise players who already buy the core game. A package that includes both the base game and the Sunbreak expansion is also available. Three new amiibo are also being added to the game, and they will unlock costume sets.

On June 30, the base game will receive a title update in anticipation of the upcoming expansion. In August, a post-launch upgrade for the game will be released with the addition of the monster Lucent Nargacuga, other kinds of monsters, and a new setting. More monsters will be added in a later update that will be released this fall and winter. In 2023, there will be more title updates.

Sunbreak's Monster Hunter Rise will feature a brand-new story with new locations to visit, as well as new gameplay mechanics. It will feature the new Elder Dragon Malzeno and the new Master Rank. The expansion will also bring back the Shogun Ceanataur from Monster Hunter 2 along with several other monsters from previous games in the series including Monster Hunter 4's Seregios as well as two new monsters, Magma Almudron and Aurora Somnacanth.
