On Friday, the Ikki Tousen franchise's official Twitter account unveiled four additional cast members for the television anime adaptation of Yuji Shiozaki's Shin Ikki Tousen manga.
The anime will launch on May 17th and will consist of three episodes in total. On March 27, the first episode was aired ahead of schedule.
The anime At Arms is directed by Rion Kujo. The series scripts are written and overseen by Masaya Honda. The character designers are Rin-Sin and Tsutomu Miyazawa, while the music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi. The theme song "Proud Stars" is performed by Konomi Suzuki.
Shiozaki's original Ikki Tousen manga follows Hakufu Sonsaku, a high school student with a magatama that allows her to channel the spirit of China's Three Kingdoms era warrior Sun Ce. She battles pupils from other high schools, each of whom wields their own magatama and represents a different historical hero. In November 2015, Shiozaki published Shin Ikki Tousen in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine.
The anime will star:

- Ayaka Ohashi as Chūbō Sonken
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Asaemon Yamada
- Masumi Asano as Hakufu Sonsaku
- Yuko Kaida as Shimei Ryomou
- Hitomi Nabatame as Unchō Kan'u
- Yuu Asakawa as Shiryū Chō'un
Four prior television anime and five earlier OVAs have been based on the main manga. Ikki Tousen: Western Wolves is the most recent anime installment in the series, and it was released in February 2019 on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. From January to March 2019, three episodes of the anime aired on AT-X.
