Ok guy’s we think the Gorrila (As the author Hideaki Sorachi so affectionately refers to himself) is serious….THIS TIME! This is 100% the FINAL Gintama film it even says so in the title so it must be real…..right?

The full trailer was posted to the Film’s official website on October 10, 2020 (Gintoki’s Birthday) The 35 second trailer of the film blatantly states that this is truly the “final for real.” See video below

Adding into the festivities the official Gintama Youtube channel will be streaming the first episode as well as eight others, It will also stream the 2010’s Gintama: The Movie today October 10, 2020 at 7pm (in Japan). Starting on October 24^th the channel will stream the top episodes chosen by fans from their ongoing poll.

The Film will release is slated for Japanese release on January 8^th, 2021 and is (I kid you not) “the finale, for real this time.” The film’s plot will be based on the manga’s finale with added new story elements.

 The now complete manga has also inspired a new net anime special with a story that will tie into the film. Which will premiere exclusively in Japan on the online dTV service "in early 2021"

Sorachi's original "science-fiction Edo period-drama comedy" manga began in 2003 and ended in June 2019 with over 55 million copies in circulation. The latest anime series premiered in July 2018. The manga has also inspired various original video anime (OVA), event anime, two live-action films, and two live-action net spinoffs. Viz Media published the manga's first 23 volumes in English.
