The BNA: Brand New Animal manga series' most recent chapter in Shueisha's Tonari no Young Jump online magazine confirmed on Friday that the book's last chapter will be published on September 9. On September 16, Shueisha will also release the manga's sole collected volume.
In May 2020, Asano released BNA: Brand New Animal, the serialized manga adaptation of Trigger's original television animation.
The anime's first six episodes made their exclusive Netflix debut in Japan in March 2020, followed by episodes 7–12 in May 2020. In April 2020, the anime made its debut on Fuji TV's "+Ultra" programming block. The anime had its American debut on Netflix in June 2020.
In the anime's narrative, animal-human hybrids were discovered in the 21st century after being shrouded in the mists of time. Michiru led a typical human life until one day she unexpectedly transforms into a tanuki-human.
She flees and seeks safety in "Anima Metropolis," a designated sector of the city built ten years ago to allow animal-humans to live as they like. There, Shirou, a wolf-human who despises people, encounters Michiru. Michiru begins to learn about the concerns, way of life, and pleasures of the animal-humans through Shirou. Michiru and Shirou unintentionally become involved in a major crisis while trying to figure out why Michiru abruptly changed into an animal-human.
The animation at Trigger was directed by Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia), and the screenplay were written by Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill).
